I think I’m in love with Trent Reznor.
I swear, the man has more vision than most of us do in a lifetime. Released in 1994, “Hurt” is one of the most notable and famous singles off the band’s second album – and probably their whole discography. I added Johnny Cash’s cover too for good measure (because it’s really something), but nothing compares to the original. You just can’t recreate the raw and brutally honest quality of Reznor’s passion. Unlike a lot of Nine Inch Nails‘ heavy industrial rock, “Hurt” is a quiet and haunting reflection of one man’s existential crisis.
