I dare you to find sexier voices than the closeted intimacy of Oliver Sim and Romy Madley-Croft. The xx recently released their much anticipated second album (Coexist), following in the footsteps of their Mercury Prize winning debut album. Romy said that the idea for Coexist initially came from watching the relationship between water and oil. I sometimes think the mark of a truly great band is in their paradoxical ability to retain continuity of sound and a sense of experimentation. The xx does this perfectly. Coexist was produced by the group’s own Jamie Smith, adding a uniquely personal touch and in-house magic to the album’s material (the production is unreal). The xx have done it again ladies and gents.
