Maybe it’s the humidity making my hair frizz out this morning, but I’m in the mood for some serious shoegaze. Usually I’m quick to pick up My Bloody Valentine or The Jesus and Mary Chain, but I opted for something a little different today. Enter Chapterhouse, one of the UK’s original shoegazing bands from the 1990s. Though people don’t always understand how I can enjoy listening to music that sounds like it’s being processed by a sanding belt, I can’t get enough of these distorted guitars and breathy vocals. “Pearl” is a great single for a dwingling summer day.
